Prices rising?

This blog reports that hotel rates are forceast to go up, a sign that the 2009 price slump may have been only temporary.

If you have made a reservation for next year, can you attest to rising prices at hotels you frequent?

For what it's worth, I just booked a hotel in DC area (Fairview Park Marriott) 12-15 Aug 10 (same time I stayed there in 09) and AAA rate is $10 more per night in 2010 than 2009.  Airfare r/t from DSM-DCA is nearly $40 more.  Both, however, are still bargains as far as I'm concerned.

More Marriott brands in popular destinations for business and leisure are participating in Roomsaver.com rate deals suggesting affordable hotel rates at least for the early portion of Q1 2010.

I have noted that trend. I just booked a room at the Rive Gauche in Paris for March and it is about $20-30 more a night than it has usually cost to stay there.
