Thank you for your telephone call today.
As per our telephone conversation herewith the parameters with which we offer a Status Match:
In order to match your status, we require an overview of the activity with the other hotel loyalty program. If you could please provide us with a statement from the other hotel chain account that lists the stays you had in the last 12 months, we would then be able to offer a status match according to our elite membership requirements:
10 nights Silver
50 nights Gold
75 nights Platinum
Please send us detailed screenshots with the list of all the stays, one by one, with check-in and check-out dates. As soon as we receive the required documentation we will process the status match and you can begin to make your reservations.
Fistuk - I agree with you. This makes no sense. They'd almost be better or just not offering a status match. This way it seems as if they offer it but put conditions on it that make being able to take advantage of it almost impossible. That's not really a way to build business.
"Our teams have not heard of anything like that. If a Marriott Rewards representative in the UK office is offering this, it up to them. Our offices are not honoring status matches."
So perhaps what you were offered was a "good will" gesture. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
I can assure you it wasn't a good will gesture. This is their policy for a status match and reading your reply just makes me wonder how come this benefit is available only to a portion of Marriott customers?...
This policy, apparently existing in the UK office, must be unified between all Marriott offices worldwide, and realizing it's not is really annoying.
I'd suggest Marriott's corporate office to make deeper investigation on this, as it's a clearly unfair policy if US customers, for instance, can't take advantage of this!
I have the full details of the person in the UK office who sent me this written confirmation, so if you need it for further investigation please send me a private message.
