We’ve all got them, and some of us have had the opportunity to see them for ourselves. It’s that one place you’ve been dying to see with your own eyes…that bucket list destination.
Did you make it there this year? Show us!
As for me, I completed two of my bucket list items in the past year - I went skydiving and took a trip to Thailand! I still have many countries to visit on my bucket list, but my sister works for a guided tour agency and we are planning their 2 week tour to Africa for a safari in 2018! That's been on my bucket list forever and even though it's a few years away, knowing we're starting to save for it makes it a bit more real!
KatieC is close to knocking a destination off her list:
“Italy is on my bucket list. We are planning a trip for our 5th wedding anniversary next April!”
lindseyh is dreaming of Africa:
“There are so many amazing places on my bucket list, but one to call out is Morocco and other countries in Northern Africa. There is so much amazing history and culture in that part of the world. I want to experience it! I don’t have any plans to visit in the short term, but I will make it there some day.”
carat is planning her dream trip to Colorado:
Two things I’m very excited to cross off my bucket list is going to Colorado during the summer and seeing a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. I have been to Colorado during the winter months for ski vacations and have truly enjoyed it, but always wanted to experience more. I found out recently that my cousin will be getting married at the Chapel at Red Rocks next July. Here comes part two… I’ve heard such great things about Red Rocks, the venue and park and have always wanted to go. Word on the street is that one of the grooms favorite bands, Umphrey’s McGee, will be playing there that same weekend, just to make it even more special. Since we’ll be making the trip out there, we’ve decided to make an adventure out of it! We’re just in the beginning stages of planning, so if anyone has any recommendations, please send them my way!

I'm dying to go anywhere and see anything. But I suppose my bucket list might include going to a place I've never been before, even though I do enjoy returning to favorite places. If that's the standard, then I guess I went to a couple new places this year: San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
How did you like San Juan & St. Kitts and Nevis?
I've been to Puerto Rico twice and love it there, one time we stayed at 5 different cities on the island throughout the trip so we really got the feel for the different areas. I really want to get to St. Kitts, it looks so beautiful!
deannad, I went to Puerto Rico for work and had an enjoyable time. I would go back and would like to take the family someday. Old San Juan is pretty cool, and it is nice to be able to use my cell phone and iPad without roaming or international charges. The entire family went to St. Kitts and Nevis and absolutely loved it. There is no big city and big time shopping like you'd see on some Caribbean islands, but there are mountains, rainforests, historical and cultural sites, beaches of all types and sand color, and plenty to do and see. And the best part is that it is not overly commercialized or developed, and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. The weather was perfect, too. We really loved both St. Kitts and Nevis and would go back anytime! I would highly recommend. The Marriott resort is wonderful with great service, restaurants, a casino, a spa, shops, and an amazing beach.
I did complete some bucket list items this year, some great, some small. Here are a few:
The most epic would be visiting London for the first time, to include:
Paris, this trip we visited the following places for the first time:
Outside of Paris:

It was a pretty good year. Great question and thanks for asking!
P.S. My android phone broke, and a lot of the photos from these trips are stuck in there, otherwise, I'd share photos.
pluto77......great list for sure, but if you're Droid was lucky enough to been using Verizon it should have been backed up on Verizon Cloud and very easy to access your photos and much more. Oh my did a "Geezer" just mention something like back up and cloud...sheez!!
Wow that is such an amazing list pluto77! I can't wait to see what you've accomplished by the end of 2016.
Is it sad to say I haven't been to ANY of the places you listed??
They're all on my bucket list, especially D.C because it's only a few hours away but I've somehow never made the trip. My friend that lived in North Carolina because her husband in the Marines was stationed there is actually moving to D.C in February so I think 2016 will be the year I finally make it there. I'll have to reference your list of places you've gone while there so I can check them out, especially if I go with her and her husband to some of the armed services museums you've listed.
I am envious of your business & first class travels, that's gotta make all the difference!
Thanks again for sharing!
This post is a good reminder that I need to go somewhere for pleasure. I've not been on a vacation in forever. When I get home from traveling on business, the last thing I think about is getting back on the road. Then, the year flies by and I missed an opportunity to go somewhere for me...thank you for the reminder. I want to go to Iceland in 2016!
Oooh Iceland! I definitely want to make it there someday too greekbecky! Northern lights, hot springs, picturesque waterfalls - what more could you ask for?! If you go make sure you share your adventures & photos with Insiders - even though you'll probably be bundled up in a parka for all pictures!
