We are planning on staying at the Courtyard in Venice before taking a cruise.  Does anyone know how long the trip is to the Port from the Hotel; the best way to get there and what a taxi would cost?

The Courtyard is located at the airport.  If you are spending any time in Venice prior to (or after) your cruise, it is very inconvenient and time consuming to travel back and forth between Venice and the Courtyard.  If you want to return to the Courtyard to rest and freshen up after a day of siteseeing before dinner, you probably won't make it back into Venice that night... you'll end up deciding to eat at the hotel or somewhere close by.  I was going to stay there this past September but opted to use points at another chain specifically for this reason.

However, if you have your mind made up that you'll stay at the Courtyard, here are some instructions on getting from the airport to the cruise terminals:

I only wish that Marriott had a property on the island...we have always opted to stay at another brand, and I am always happy we did...it is worth the price and the hassle.  Good luck!
