I typically stay at locations that are outside major city centers and are more rural. My stays vary between RI, TPS, FI, and SHS locations. I get upgraded at TPS around 75 percent of the time to a minimum of a one bedroom suite. RI upgrades about 50 percent of the time. Yet, I have never been upgraded in a FI or SHS. The SHS basic rooms are pretty nice to begin with so I don't mind the lack of upgrade so much. As for the FI, I am starting to wonder if they even have suites to upgrade too. Has anyone ever seen a suite on a FI property?
This is an interesting topic to introduce to the forum, tr07! I'm intrigued to hear what the rest of the Insiders community has to say about Suites and FI.
How often, in comparison to the other brands, do you stay at FI? I can't say that I've ever stayed at one, but would love to know a bit more about them from your perspective! Thanks for posting.
I will have about 90 nights this year. My breakout will be about 30 nights at TPS, 25 nights at FI, 20 nights at RI, 10 at SHS and 5 full service Marriotts. The FI locations I stay at are all FI and Suites locations. The newer locations of these FI and Suites are not bad but there are a lot of older FI's that I am very surprised even qualify to carry the Marriott name.
