I stay way too many nights in Marriotts and seldom have poor experiences. A recent stay for business in Midland at the Springhill Suites is one of those poor experiences. As a Platinum member, i get used to the excellence from most staff and properties. In Midland, forget it. The front staff was just not welcoming and when I needed a pop it was as if the lady was doing me a favor selling me the $2 bottle. When I first arrived I asked to add a second night. Two hours into my stay, I cancelled. Saginaw, MI is only 20 minutes away and well worth the drive. The Springhill Suites there is one of the best Marriott properties I have ever stayed at. The staff and facilities are excellent.
I almost forgot, my reservation confirmation in Midland showed a $125.00 rate and they charged me $130.00!!
