dealing with smell in the room

I have stayed in Greenbelt Marriott for more than 5 times in the past 12 months and it used to be fine, until tonight. After three hours in room 1515, I moved to 1511 two hours ago. The reason is that that room is decorated heavily with some sort of "fragrance" -- the heavy-duty kind you may buy at dollar store to cover all other smells. It is 3:50 am now and I am still trying to recover from the smell in the previous room. I asked the lady at the front desk and she said she does not know what people put in the room. I noticed similar smell in this hotel before but it was within my tolerance. This time it seemed smelling an order of magnitude stronger.

Maybe I am getting much older and way too sensitive? Is there a good way of getting your mind away from thinking about it so that it does not ruining an entire night of sleep?
