Renaissance Dallas - Rooms to Avoid

Marriott is taking steps to improve this landmark, 29 year old property, but some of the improvements have not been thought through.  Phase I, renovating all of the guest rooms and adding a club lounge has been completed.

I recently stayed in a club level room on the 26th Floor, room 2612, which was located directly below the club level lounge on the 27th Floor.  If you are like me, you enjoy quiet evenings (and more importantly quiet mornings) and you get assigned a room on the 26th Floor be sure to ask if the room is below the lounge.  The wood floors in the lounge, although beautiful, allow for the transfer of sound (specifically moving furniture) to the rooms below.  The problem could be solved with area rugs or carpeting, but I would not expect them to alter the look of the lounge anytime soon.

Thanks for the heads up!  I stayed there last march during a conference and they had just finished remodeling the club lounge while I was there.  They did a great job with it.

One complaint that I had was that the walls were thin and I had a couple "reconnecting" with each other in the next room and had to turn my TV up to mask their "sounds" so I can see how the wooden floor in the club lounge could cause similar issues.
