question on hotel category descriptions?

Does anyone know where I can find a description of what category 1 -7 means at marriott?  And how they classify these hotels?  I have searched the website but all I can find is how many points are required for each category, but nothing that tells me the description of the different categories.  Any help would be appreciated.

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

    PLTNMPRI-

For a detailed listing of all hotels by category, just click on the Marriott logo in the upper lefto corner of any website page,

Then, click on "More search options" on the left middle of the next page.

Then click on any category you wish - 1 through 8 - and wallah, all hotels in that category will display.

    Thanks CountryJim,

My explanation of what I was looking for is probably not that clear.  Sorry about that.

I was more looking for the criteria Marriott uses to decide which hotels are which category.  Why are courtyards sometmes category 2 and sometimes category 3?  Is there any criteria posted on the website that describes what a category 7 hotel provides that a category 6 does not?

Thanks for the chance to rephrase the question so hopefully its more clear.
