Please help! I cannont decide between these two hotels. I called Marriott, and they were no help. The nice gentleman told me to book both and decide! We leave in two weeks and need to decide. We don't mind walking, so I don't think the extra distance from the sites will be a problem for the Park Lane. What I am most concerned with is easy internet access as this is how I keep in touch with my kids and business. Also, I have read much on the lounge at the County Hall, but cannot find any informaiton on the lounge at the Park Lane. Does anyone know if there is a lounge? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
You cannot go wrong!
I just like the County Fair or the JW Grosvenor (Close to the Park Lane). The concierge lounge at CF is nice and the location is great for tours and walking. If you stay there try to get a room on the Thames side. From CF you can walk to many sites and that makes it fun.
The rooms are nice at both locations and consider yourself lucky to have this choice.
I haven't stayed at the County Hall, though it looks very nice. I liked the Park Lane a good deal. Like the Renaissance Chancery Court, the Park Lane is a beautiful, old building that has been redone in the inside. If I'm not mistaken, the Park Lane is also a J. W. property. I had a view of Hyde Park from my room, and I do remember a Concierge Lounge (but check the hotel fact sheet to be sure).
If I were to go to London tomorrow, I'd choose the Park Lane again because it is not only a pleasant and pleasantly decorated property, but the location is wonderful: shopping, drinking, eating, exploring Hyde Park are all right outside the front door of the hotel.
