I have only stayed at the Stellaris-La Concho appears to be the nicer of the two- (Although they were renovating the Stellaris when we were there). There is( or was) also a nice courtyard on the beach. There is a lot of cruise traffic that stays at the Stellaris the day before they board. It may be the same for the La Concho since it is so close to old San Juan.
I've stayed at the Stellaris - and it was good. We went down for a weekend away and had a great time. The food at the hotel was just okay.....but the rooms/spa/fitness center were nice. They have pool volleyball which is pretty fun during the afternoon. We picked this over La Concha because of the rooms....with 3 people in each room the Stellaris had the bigger rooms.
Nice big open beach area too.....definitely lots of children there too....might keep your kids busy while you go to the swim-up bar!

Can anyone recommend a relaxing location to spend a long weekend for our upcoming 10th anniversary? We'll be traveling from Boston in late September/early October. We love the Carribean but I worry about hurricane season that time of year.
