JW property that acts more like a good old Marriott. Close to airport - although next year when they open the new airport in Quito it will be quite a haul. Close to some restaurants and some limited shopping but safe only in daylight - nightime very dicey so be careful! The big meal of the day is midday anyway. Meals are good at the hotel but very expensive by local standards. If you want to walk around and be in the middle of "old town" Quito this is not the hotel for you. The conceirge lounge is OK but nothing special (Marriott really seems to be cutting back all over). Otavalo (indigineous shopping) is the big draw around Quito but almost 2 hours away from hotel due to poor roads. Equador uses the US dollar so no need to exchange any currencies!
