We are traveling to San Francisco for our honeymoon and due to some travel rewards, we definitely want to choose a Marriott property.
Any thoughts on which is "nicer" or more special? The JW or the Renaissance? Or is there a better choice?
If you have any experience with the suites at these I'd love to hear if you think it's worth the upgrade.
I would definitely go with the Renaissance Stanford Ct, rather than the Renaissance on Market, or the J.W. The Stanford Ct is right at the top of Nob Hill and has the two glass domes from railroad magnate Leland Stanford's mansion. The domes, as well as the decor both in the lobby and in the rooms, have a very San Francisco feel. At the Market St. Renaissance or the J.W., you could be in any fairly nice hotel anywhere; at the Renaissance Stanford Ct, you know you're in San Francisco, and the cable car is right outside the door.
I agree with diogenes recommendation. For a truly memorable time, consider the Renaissance Stanford Court. The location is convenient and upscale, the building's architectural features like the domes delight the eye at every turn, and most importanly, the service at the Stamford Court is flawless.
The Customer Care center in Salt Lake has a folder overflowing with comments from guests about 'Special Touches' in service received while at the Stanford Court. Since one of their own was honored with the highly coveted Award of Excellence, you can have very high expectations about having your honeymoon there. The Stanford Court will make your honeymoon experience very special.
Regards convenience, the Stanford Court stands at the crossroads of the three San Francisco cable car lines. As shown below, you can experience the entire city from the Stanford Court by cable car.
