Hello. My fiance' and I are trying to save up for a honeymoon in January. I have a couple questions. I have a Marriott credit card, and I have a free night stay to use up by January 17th, 2010 for a hotel category 1-5. Anyway, can I use that in conjunction with rewards points? We have 78,000 points as of now and should be able to stay 5 with that by the time we go and then I would have the annual free night stay for the sixth night. Does that seem correct?
Congratulations to you and the groom-to-be. There are several options, here are 3 among others.
Option 1-Inclusive Reward. With 70,000 points you can book a 5 night Inclusive Reward package at any one of 8 participating resorts, Corporate Code: CI5:
- Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort (Category 6)
- CasaMagna Marriott Cancún Resort (Category 5)
- St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino (Category 6)
- Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort (Category 6)
- Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino (Category 6)
- Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort (Category 6)
- CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa (Category 6)
- Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino (Category 7)
If Casamagna in Cancun works, consider combining your Category 5 night for a total of 6 nights.
Option 2: Pointsavers Hotel Reward. Compare the tables below. The top one is Marriott Hotel Rewards schedule; the bottom one is the Pointsavers Hotel Reward schedule. This gives you the freedom to select the category for which you will have the target points needed to Redeem 4 and get the 5th night free. Then combine that with your credit card night stay. At Marriott.com, click Find & Reserve to explore your hotel options. Scroll down to the area, Hotel Reward Category and click the category you're interested in. The results will list all hotels in the category. On the left hand side you can filter by Hotel Features including Country, Amenities, Hotel Type and Activities among other features.
Option 3-Purchase Points/Gift Points. If you need more points or if a higher category hotel is what you and your financee prefer, you can buy points OR include Gift Points as an option in your Bridal Registry. That way your family and friends have yet another option to help make your special day unforgettable. Consider calling the Silver Elite reservations line to request information on including Marriott Rewards points as a Bridal Registry item.
All the best for a wonderful honeymoon!
Once your registry contributions reach $1,000 you'll receive a complimentary $100. Plus, Marriott will reward your guests! Each guest gifting $150 or more will receive a $50 bonus buck coupon.
