Just stayed the Marriott San Mateo SFO airport, and I must tell everyone that the service there and the food in the Concierge Lounge is even better than before and miles ahead of any other property since the implementation of Brand Standard.
Last night in the lounge we had caviar on a small poached yokon gold potato, spicy (not fried) Caribbean chicken, gourmet cheeses, artisan breads, fruits, nuts, etc.
Breakfast today included small rounds of Nova Scotia salmon, egg whites scrambled and regular scrambled, more fresh fruit, assorted breads and cereals.
The tables are set with fresh flowers, always beautifully arranged. There is a lending library of current hardback books, plenty of cozy spaces in which to sit and relax and a full honor bar (premium brands) at reasonable fully taxed prices--4,5 or 6 dollars depending on whether it is beer, wine or spirits.
For anyone longing for the good old days (last year) and Concierge excellence, stay at the San Mateo Marriott--best of the best!
