A friend has recommended (his comments in ()) three restaurants that he says are somewhat close to the hotel. Has anyone been to any of these and their review: Le Jardin Des Pates @ 33 Blvd Arago (nice little restaurant); Auberge De Venise (great pasta); and La Mere Agitec @ 21 Rue Campagne-Permiere (dinner of the day).
JerryMorgan I will report on this hotel upon my return
I haven't been to these restauants but here are some links to reviews:
Chez Blondin is at 33 Blvd Arago.... it is near the Jardin of Plantes (garden of plants). It is a Senegalese restaurant:
La Mere Agitee does not have a menu. It has one or two blackboard specials for each course (depending on which review you read). But it has gotten some good reviews, also check on Tripadvisor.com for reviews:
La Mere Agitee restaurant in Paris near the Boulevard Montparnasse is a cult phenomenon, a 'bistrot non-conformiste' with a gregarious patronne, poetry and choral events, and a no-choice menu of traditional French cuisine. Valerie Delahay welcomes you to her creatively disordered restaurant plastered with postcards from customers, posters, and photos. As for the menu, there isn't one, just a blackboard with a single choice of starter, main or dessert according to the market and humour of the chef. That said, evrything is of the highest quality, winning fans who adore the place and return again and agian. The pig's head with red cabbage is alleged to be the best in the world, since 1995.
