I was at both of them before 1/1/09 and both gave me coupons for a fantastic breakfast. The LaDefense, because their CL was closed on the week-end I had a great brunch compt each day of the week-end in the California Room.
Likewise, the CE was also a buffet, but you could order off of the menu at no charge. I had the best Eggs Benedict of my life, (See Picture)! There is also a picture of their breakfast menu, (Yes, who takes pictures of menu's in Paris but me?)
I have noticed this year I am not getting breakfast at CY compt. like I used to, but I just eat fruit so it is no bid deal on most mornings.
Sorry, I didn't realise the last part of my comment got cut off!.
What I was saying was according to Marriott Reservations, any hotel with a lounge will give you complementary breakfast.
I will be going there in a couple of days and let's see what happens. I will be staying at the Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center on Rewards Points.
Just came back from the Rive Gauche. Got upgraded to a suite and got complementary breakfast. Not much choice for the breakfast but no complaints since it was free!. However, the Executive Lounge wasn't that big so at breakfast time it was really busy. Service was quite slow. I got a free code for internet access (wired, wireless is not free). Since I didn't have my laptop, this was no good. However, there are 3 PCs and a printer in the Executive Lounge which are free to use. In the evening, there was a long queue for these.
Hope this helps.
You commented on the complimentary breakfast at CE. Another post stated that they do not have a conceirge lounge. Can you confirm that they do or do not have a lounge and did you get complimentary breakfast? My wife and i are going to the Marriott CE in September for our 20th anniversary and I would prefer not to have any surprises..
thank you very much...
Having stayed at CE a few times I have never seen or heard of a concierge lounge.
Not being a buffet guy, they did have one of the nicest comp. breakfasts I could ever imagine each day for us! You could also order off the buffet at no charge. Please see a picture of the finest eggs benedict you could ever imagine.
A great place to stay for any occasion!
They used to a couple of years ago when I stayed there.
I recommend you call them and speak to the lady who runs the Club Lounge there.
They used to print out nice letters saying the lounge is closed but please join us for breakfast at the buffet which I remember was quite nice.
I JUST STAYED 7 NIGHTS AT THE PARIS C/E;23RD - 30TH AUGUST, ON AN AWARDS STAY - WHEN I CHECKED IN THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME THAT I WAS ENTITLED TO A FULL AMERICAN BREAKFAST BUFFET, AND THAT THIS WOULD BE ENTERED ON THEIR COMPUTER AGAINST MY ROOM NUMBER.
FOR EACH OF THE 7 MORNINGS I GAVE MY ROOM NUMBER TO THE RESTAURANT RECEPTIONIST AND MY WIFE AND I GOT A COMP BREAKFAST. NO PROBLEMS - NO COUPONS. JUST GREAT SERVICE.
THEY ALSO GAVE ME A CUTE ROOM UPGRADE TO A ROOM WITH A BALCONY OVERLOOKING THE C/E - AND A VIEW OF THE EIFEL TOWER!
Can't get better than that. Except there was no complimentary computer access-as one gets in a lounge.
I must agree Leslie, we just returned from the C-E and although we did not get an upgrade until 9/1 we had the same experience. They did upgrade my wife and I to room 703 which overlooks the C-e and the Eiffel Tower. Must have been your room :). The view was spectacular and the buffet breakfast at $29 Euro per person as a gift was very nice. The staff treated us very nice and even gave us a bottle of Champagne and dessert for our 20th anniversary complimentary.
It was very much worth the points and would love to go back tomorrow...
