"Marriott has announced 20% off weekends if you book before June 2nd."

Out of nearly 700 participants, a whopping 88% of the respondents to the Insiders survey, "Have you extended a business trip for leisure?" reply affirmatively. I trust Marriott Rewards members responded to the Global Rate Break and Marriott has seen an uptick in activity.  When a different promotion started showing up at Marriott.com, I found myself going to YOUR Insiders message to bookmark the URL:

Elite Rollover Nights plus Double Nights was the best 'call to action' I've seen in a long time.  Kudos to Marriott.  The reaction in my small circle has been very positive.  Combined with the Global Rate Break, my wife and I are in a frenzy trying to beat the clock booking as many weekends as we can to places we dreamed of getting away to.

As of this morning, the URL triggers an Error Message. Too bad. While the Deal of the Day offers promising discounts, the new promotion responds to impulse travel versus the subject of the survey:  Extending business travel for leisure.  That's why the Global Rate Break and 20% off weekend travel worked so well - the promotion responds to the trend and an unmet need.

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)
