Make sure to follow the weight limits on suitcases or the airline will charge extra.  Tuck an extra tote in your bag, to remove items from your checked bag in case you exceed the weight limit on the way home due to souvenirs, etc.

    Great tip.  We typically travel light and once at our destination, shop till we drop.  Packing several foldable totes plus a backpack works well to handle the extras for the return trip.
