I really enjoyed Marriott's MegaBonus promotion last year and quickly signed up for the promtion earlier this year. So, when the Intercontinental Hotel Group Priority Club Rewards took first place at the 21st Freddie Awards for Best Bonus Promotion - it came as a surprise.
Randy Petersen of InsideFlyer* looked under the hood and explains the success of the Priority Club approach, "This is the program's (IHG Priority Club Rewards) sixth consecutive win and this year Priority Club won with its offer of double points or double miles after a member's second stay. The offer gained a value vote of 9.27 and was followed once again by six-time winner in this category, Marriott Rewards, which has placed second behind IHG three times in this category. Marriott Rewards gained a value vote this year of 9.16 with its popular MegaBonus offer."
The recently announced promotion, Elite Rollover Nights targets accelerated qualification to Elite status. Is this on the mark or off? What offers you the best value proposition - more points or higher status or both?
