Dinner for Two Certificates

One of the best ways I've found to enjoy some of the great high end restaurants at the resorts are the Dinner for Two Certificates.    They can be purchased on the website:  https://gifts.marriott.com/giftCertificate.aspx?type=dinnerForTwo&t=416200943421PM26EDCBAB719624126

for $109.   Or they can be purchased with points --- last look they were 20K points.   The cash purchase is a better deal in my opinion.   For this, you basically get 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, all non-alcoholic beverages (including bottled water and coffee), tax and tip.   It's a great way to tryout the best of the Marriott restaurants without the huge price tag or for a special night out.   We used these for a special dinner on the beach in Aruba and are planning to use several more in Asia in June.    There are a few exclusions as to where you can use them, but there are SO many possibilities!   It's a shame so few people know about this option!

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

    What a great idea!

Had never heard of this, but it really makes sense when you are on a budget.  Sometimes it also helps when entertaining family and do not want to go out because of weather or whatever.

These were also a great benefit. We often purchased them a few months prior to our trip to 'prepay' for a great vacation meal. The dining room staff really appreciated the use of these awards because guests would order more than they normally would and they received 20% gratuity on the full amount. Since prices at most Marriott property restaurants are much higher than comparable restaurants in the area, these certificates brought in a lot of additional customers. Unfortunately, these were also eliminated, along with the similar 'dinner for 2' award available for 20k MR points. Thank you Marriott. We miss the customer-oriented philosophy of the Marriott family, but now the company is run by finance people who don't recognize the value of loyal customers.
