Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of the Marriott in Curacao and the new Renaissance? My fiance and I are heading there for our honeymoon in June and are trying to decide between the two. Any information would be appreciated!

The Curacao Marriott is an amazing resort.  See my earlier post: Re: Curacao Paradise-Hidden Gems of the Caribbean

If you are planning to redeem points, the Curacao Marriott is among the resorts participating the recently announced 3 for 2 resort redemption special.

My wife and I were just there in March at the older Marriott Resort.  This was our second visit there, and my wife did not want to leave!  Our first trip there was about a week after it first opened some 7 years ago.  It is getting a little weathered, but it is still a nice hotel.  The casino right there was frequently visited by my wife to play the slots.  The new Renaissance is right in the town.  The town shopping has daily crowds from the cruise ships stopping for the day.  I preferred the Marriott Resort for the simple fact it was far away from the crowds, even if the Renaissance is nearly brand new.  The island really goes out of its way to cater to the tourists.
