My wife and I are planning a trip to London (with a day trip to Paris) in September. This is our first trip to Europe. I'm looking for hotel recomendations for somehting centrally located to the tourist things, easy to get to and a good concierge lounge. County Hall seems nice, but any help or insight would be appreciated.
Having been lucky and done this many times, the first thought is I am assuming you are using points or a combination of them and paying. If using points, study the Marriott web site and familiarize yourself with the areas.
For a first time, here would be my choices of hotels.
London: County Hall,
Paris:: Marriott C-E.
These two hotels have great locations, easy transportation access, and are just plain great.
Without knowing a lot of your plans, you will really enjoy their proximity to everything you would want to do on your first trip. Lastly, plan on the big red bus to get you around each city and do take the Eurostar between the cities.
It was opened a few months ago when we were there.
This is a great hotel, an again, try to get a room on the Thames side. Use the "Big Red Bus", to really relax and see London.
By the way, the C. Lounge is huge and well stocked. The hotel rest. are very nice but really expensive.
Enjoy! Lastly, try the tube from the airport to the hotel if you can.
