I will be in London for 3 nights and attending the Michael Jackson concert at the O2 arena (Canary Wharf area). I prefer to stay in the heart of the city instead of at the Marriott West India Query which is near the arena. I will not have a car and would like to take public transportation to the concert. Can someone recommend a hotel(s) that is centrally located, safe and walking distance to public transportation?
My first choice, for your situation, would be the County Fair Marriott, (Especially if using points) The location for public transportation and walking is hard to beat.
You have plenty to do close by Big Ben, Westminster Abby, so much close by.
Likewise, your transportation to and from either airport will be by rail and will save you a bundle.
Do not remember ever seeing any Travelodge in the County Hall Building.
One thing you must keep trying is using less points for your stay, just keep looking at the requirements each day and you may be surprised at things "opening up" for you using points for your stay. Likewise, make sure you look at week-end rates and specials. Things do change daily. One last thing, do not rule out staying at another place if you have to!
