STAYING AT THE RI IN EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ. THEY DO NOT GIVE YOUR POINTS WHEN STAY IS COVERED BY BUSINESS

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

If you are not paying for the room, and the room is direct billed to someone other than you, then that's a different story,  Are you part of a group that is paying for the accomodation?  If you are then it a no-pointer, sorry.

If you yourself are paying then that deserves a call to the folks in SLC.  The rules are that every property, regardless of who owns it, with a Marriott name will grant points (Unless it is a reward stay).  Residence Inns give you 50% of the points, since they are long stay, plus the 500 point Platinum bonus, if you chose it over a snack, and they should give you 50% on top of the points earned.
