I would be interested in hearing preferences among all who read this forum, for those things that Marriott offers and those things we would trade, if offered, to do without the amenity. At the moment, Platinum members can choose points over an amenity, something I always do.
But, what if there was an options menu? Here's an example:
Concierge Lounge Access versus reduced room rate, versus free meal in restaurant, free breakfast
Concierge Lounge Access versus free Internet, and free parking, 5000 Marriott Rewards points.
Concierge Lounge versus (other)?
Rationale for this is that the Lounges may be less than they were in the past, more crowded, less welcoming, etc. Would anyone be willing to forgo their use in exchange for other compensation. I've seen all the posts on potential for elimination of the Concierge Lounges (debunked by officials) and wondered if there wasn't a middle ground?
