Hi! We were in Aurba for our honeymoon in May. Here are some ideas. Our favorites are at the top. We would go back Madam Janette's in a heartbeat. Do not wait til the end of the trip to go there. We did and wish we would have gone 2-3 times!
giannis is a great italian restaurant the food is sooo delicious
challet swiss OMG!!! its the greatest. You will definately love it portions are large and deserts are to die for.Staff is great look for Bennie and Hernandes. Baci is another great restaurant if you like linguini and fresh clams
Madame Janettes is great - sizes are large and sharing is enough for two. i.e. share salad and share main dish. But the best is to buy fresh fish off the pier near the Marriott and either cook it in the time share or bring to nearby restaurant. The local snapper was the best.
One place I don't see mentioned at all is Cuba's Cookin'. This place is located in downtown and has never disappointed me. Although the service could be spotty, I still highly recommend it.
One other restaurant we always stop in to is Blackhog Saloon, not far from the Marriott. Their dishes are served in the actual pan that they are cooked in and the fettucini alfredo is probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Just be forewarned, it's a very generous serving and could pose a danger to your arteries.
In Aruba I like the Texas de Brazil restaurant. You eat all you can of all kinds of meats cooked in the brazilian Gaucho style. I love the Argentine Gaucho plain roasting bar-b-Q.
You get Dutch cheese at the Marriott. Was it the Marriott or the Renaissance that I stayed at? It was the one on Palm beach and has a Ruths CRIS steak house I loved. Eat fish at the hotel.

I want to do Caribbean this summer. Been to St Thomas Morning Star several times and want to try another Marriott. Any suggestions? Love the more 'private' feel - and want on the beach like Morning Star rooms are. Thanks!
Just booked Aruba Marriott surf club in September. Wondering if I should change to the aruba Ocean club villa instead? Does anyone know the differences between the two and do they have a preference of one over the other?
Have you stayed at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino using Marriott Reward Points and if so did you use Points or Cash to upgrade to the Tradewinds Club Level and did you find the added amenities a value?
We are heading to Aruba staying at the surf club (we were assigned surf club through trading our timeshare). I read trip advisor and other than early beach chairs claiming what else do we need to know? We will be renting a car. Help with tips
We are planning a 10 day stay in a Aruba next summer using points. Myself, spouse and children 16 and 14. Which property would you recommend? Leaning either towards renaissance or marriott hotel, but possibly a vacation club.
Renaissance Aruba 2011 Availability?I have been trying unsuccessfully to reserve a paid stay for Feb 2011 for several weeks. I am being told by the Platinum desk that they don't know why no 2011 inventory has been loaded. Does anyone know what's
WE went oct 2011 & 2012 & ate both times at whackwhat hobo. Loved the food at Whacky Wahoo, and its close to Marriott surf club. Was about $5 taxi fare, great great food, wonderful wait staff. Beware....if taking a taxi to el goucho's....it's a long ride from the resort, About $25 taxi fare. If you are going there, go some time when you are returning from downtown.
