Wine trips

Next time you're in California wine touring why not skip Napa and Sonoma and try some of the other wine grape growing regions:  Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties for example.  Monterey is full of non table grapes (and lettuce and broccoli and...the list goes on).  SLO, as it's known has several wine growing regions and microclimates, some of which mimic those in Europe.  Try some of the West of 101 wineries around Paso Robles, but especially Jada Vineyard, a 90 acre parcel with absolutely fantastic wines! See if you figure out how the owner came up with the names of the various wines.
