Our family will be making a trip to London in the Spring and are looking at the London Kensington and the Hotel Maida Vale. Does anyone have any reviews to share? We are looking for some place close to a tube station but still in a quiet area. If there is another Marriott that would be better suited feel free to recommend as we are open to suggestions.
the maida vale marriott is one of the cheapest, but there is a reason for that.It is in a busy area, and on the main street. The area is a bit dirty.
the kensington marriott is good for the museums and knightbridge(harrods)
The regents park marriott(about a mile away)is in a much better area.It is a few minutes walk to the park-a huge bonus in london is a place that you can walk to and unwind. It is a few minutes to the subway as well.
Sometimes you can get 3 nights for 2 as a platinim member, and good rates at county hall(best view of london) or our favorite chancery court.
hope this helps
We stay in london many times a year, and only stayed at Maida Vale once!!
The Kensington is far superior to the Madre. You have more security, plus the transportations is superior. The tube, and Big Red Bus, make Kensington a real plus.
There is a new Ren. being built at St. Pancras, and it looks great if you are taking the Eurostar while in London.
