Has anoyone been to the MVC Barony Beach Club in Hilton Head?  If so, is it family friendly?

We own at the Barony Beach and it's very family friendly.  A great place for everyone in the family.  They have 3 pools, one has the zero depth entry.  They also have a little splash area for little kids.  There's a spa in the resort, so that's great for adults.  We go to Hilton Head every year and love it.  Another great resort is Surfwatch, but we like the pool at Barony just a little more and the walk to the beach is significantly easier and shorter.  Great place.

Hi!  We own at Surf Watch but exchanged into Barony for a week last year.  What you'll find at Barony, as with just about any other MVCI property, is they are ALL family friendly.  Barony is nicely tucked away off of Hilton Highway with ready and easy access to the beach.  The outdoor pool near the main building is a nice size and heated which was perfect for us to use with our daughter.  At the time she was only 6 months old.  If you have aolder children, they have a great fun pool closer to the ocean with fountains, sprinklers and a graduated entry to the water so you can even bring your chair to the water's edge and sit in the pool while you watch your kids.  THAT pool is not heated and is quite cool. Oh yeah, there is also an indoor pool which is heated but was not used much the week we were there (mid-October 2008).

The team at Barony will provide you with a calendar of events for the week, each event identified by the age for which it is developed.  There's a Kids' Zone where special activities are held for the kids, at times with adult supervision and at others without.  They even held a "movie night" for the kids with trained and certified babysitters so the parents can take advantage of the many restaurants for a "night out."

On Hilton head we've stayed at Barony, Surf Watch and Grande Ocean and all three were excellent.  Surf Watch is our home property and we've already booked two weeks, back to back.

    Enjoy!

Great place, very new and clean.  Much better than Grande Ocean which shows wear and tear.

We are going to Barony Beach as an 'old retired couple' late May.  Anyone have ideas of night life like plays or concerts?  Good places to eat?  Touring?  We want to go to Savanah and Charleston - any tips?

    Thanks.

If you are going over to Savannah, then you have to dine at Paula Deane's, Lady and Two sons Restuarant.. The Buffet is great and inexpensive. Be prepared for alot of calories and alot of butter.. But once in a while it is too good to pass up!! Also, try to take the horse and carriage ride aound the city.. Well worth the money. You get that down by the water.. There are alot of shops and also little cafes down there also... Great place to visit.. We go every year.. We usually stay out of the immediate town... We stay at the Courtyard or Fairfield... We also have been to Hilton Head and love it.... You can pretty much walk around in any of the plantation areas. Lots of shopping and eating also... Have fun. Hope this helped!!!

Thanks to all who replied.  We had a wonderful stay at Barony Beach, the resort is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and there were many kids and adult activities.  Hilton Head is like paradise, I can't wait to go back.  Maybe next time we'll try to trade for a different resort, the Grande Ocean seemed to be very nice as well.  Oh well, back to work and reality tomorrow.....
