We stayed at the Renaissance La Defense in Paris in July 2007 and would recommend it for its convenience, comfort and quality. The price was not too far removed from other local hotels and the convenience was great (we traveled with our three children ages 5-7, my 70year old father and 11 year old niece.....yes, that was seven of us in total). The "metro" was simple to use and only a two block walk from the hotel. The location makes it ideal and there were no safety concerns for the area it is located in. We also stayed in the Nouvel Orleans area as well as on the outskirts of Paris at the Marriott Disney and this hotel was much nicer. Too much time is spent getting to the destination if you aren't in alocation closer in and who would want to waste any time while in Paris. The last time we were in Paris and stayed at La Defense Ren. they had a wonderful two room suite for the same price as a regular room and the rooms were lovely and large by any standard in Europe. Good luck!
