Hi fellow travelers-
We are arriving in London in early December and casting about for a 5 night stay before we check in to the Rennaisance on 12/14. Any suggestions connected to public transportation will be appreciated. We have never been able to get into the Marriott quarter share location. Any thoughts about that location are also appreciated.
A very happy Marriott traveler.
Hello fellow traveler!
Make sure you make arrangements for when you land to take the public transportation to downtown London. Either the Gatwick Express, to Victoria station, (You can pay once on the train). Or I like the regular "Tube" to my favorite Marriott, Grosvenor House. Something that is really a good value, it the Big Red Bus. It is a great way to see London. Lastly, if you have an interest, I always enjoy taking the "Chunnel" to Paris. You can do it/and back in a day and it is really an an experience. Good luck email@example.com
if you are arriving via LHR, take the tube and get a "day pass". If you are coming in via Gatwick, take the train. If you are coming in via Stansted, stay out there and enjoy the country for a day or two :).
Definitely get the day pass, multiple days are good too. You get unlimited tube, red bus and related water taxi access. Once you have the pass, just grab a map and go for it. There's lots of very cool places within an hour or two of the city as well if you are looking to explore beyond the reach of the tube. Let me know if I can help point you in any directions.
Interestingly, I will be in the Renaissance during the same period. I have been there close to 60 nights this year. This is a great hotel and a great location as the Picadilly & Central lines have stops there. If you are landing at LHR you can just take the Picadilly line from the airport right to 1 block from the hotel.
