Reccomendations welcome

I wish to visit Italy next year. I have been there twice before but never used a Marriott. I saw a bargain with the Naples property but am afraid of the garbage situation. I would also welcome any insights on ANY marriott properties in Italy. I have not secured my flights and am open to any and all advice. Thanks in advance.

The Marriott at Via Venetto was great.

We spent 10 days in Italy last May (2007).  We spent five days in Rome and stayed at the Marriott on the outskirts of Rome.  While it wasn't ideally located, they more than compensated by having a free shuttle that takes you to central Rome and back each day.  The other half we spent on the Island of Capri and stayed at the JW Marriott.  It was phenomenal.  Great food.  Great service.  Great location.  We even did day trips to Pompeii and Herculanum.  I highly recommend it.

The Marriott on Via Venetto is nice.  Pleasant lobby with nice bar and restaurant.  The breakfast on the top of the hotel is good and the view is amazing.  Good restaurants are within walking distance.  Cabs are easy to obtain for further trips.  Now the bad stuff.  Rooms are mediocre, with the most uncomfortable beds in all of Europe.  We had a suite on the top floor and it was drab and dreary.  If you are going in the heat of the summer, beware.  The rooms are scorching hot and the a/c is weak, at best.
