WHAT A BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY. THE GROUNDS ARE SO RELAXING AND ADD SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY, YOU GET A PERFECT VACATION. I AM AN INTERIOR DECORATOR AND CAN SAY I WOULDN'T HAVE CHANGED A THING! NOW, THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING FOR ME. WE CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN AND ENJOY BEING IN THE TREES AGAIN.
Marriott Manor Club (original side) has had a facelift during 2009 and is quite nice. The HOA of the timeshare went on the cheap and didn't replace the old TV's fridges stoves but each suite does show a new freshness even though they kept much of the excellent solid wood hard goots.
I own 3 weeks at Manor Club and use two of them every year for the last week of June and first week of July. Hot and humid at that time of year but owners get 6 free rounds of golf each week on the Ford's Colony golf courses. Nice. I don't find it a place just for golf and old people at all ... and you see kids everywhere in the kid programs at least when I go. Women love the outlet malls and there's plenty to do including Busch Gardens and Water World in addition to history at Jamestown and Williamsburg - all about 15 minutes from Manor Club.
The GM of the timeshare is always out of sight, strangely, and I know few people including myself that have been able to meet him - a sad change from friendly Glenn Knorr who preceeded him. But the drive in to the TS sold me before I even owned there in the mid 90's and the point system convinced me to buy more as I can drive to it from home representing a huge savings in airfare, car rental, etc.
