    slltravel,

Hi and Welcome to Marriott Insiders!  The Destination Points program is for Marriott Vacation Club Owners (Timeshare Division) while Marriott Rewards is the points program for hotel stays.

You buy Destination Points for travel within Marriott Vacation Club.  You earn Reward Points Through Marriott International in various ways & can use then for free hotel nights, etc.

Thanks for your helpful responses, vaboywnder and rinny54!

slltravel, I suggest calling Marriott Vacation Club directly at 800-845-4226. There are lots of variations of their program, and they will be able to help you determine which one is best for you.
