We will be driving around Italy in a rental car. We would like to stay in Venice for 3 days but can't seem to find a hotel where we are able to park our car. The Boscolo Venezia says off site parking but no mention of where this parking is located in relation to the hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We parked at the Venice Tronchetto Parking Garage which is a huge garage and close to docks for the boats to Venice. Finding the garage is not difficult if you plan it out ahead of time. Upon entering the garage find your parking spot and make sure to write down all the possible information such as what level, what spot, what exit you left the garage from and if you can mark the spot with a smart phone so the GPS will take you right back to it as the garage is very very confusing when you get ready to leave.
Make sure you take your parking ticket with you when you leave the car as you pay on the first level just before you are departing the garage in your car to leave Venice, once you pay the parking fee I think you have something like 15 minutes to exit the garage. Read all the pertinent information in the link to the Tronchetto and you'll do just fine. Have a fun time and expect to get lost in Venice walking all over the place.
Should you decide to take the Duck that brightlybob has provided the picture of, it might be wise to avoid the garage and simply drive into the canals.
