LA in August

I am vacationing in LA in August with my husband and two teenagers.  We want to hit as many hot spots as possible and have the total "LA/Beverly Hills/Santa Monica Experience"  We are foodies, star searchers and adventurers. Any suggestions?

In Santa Monica, I like Schatzi's on Main.  It's Austrian food, international staff, indoor & outdoor dining.  Governor Schwarzenegger owned (still owns?) the building it's in and occasionally eats there and smokes on their Cigar nights.

    Msyvettep,

You are in for a very special experience!

If you can, stay at least one night at The Ren. in Hollywood.  The location will allow you to walk around the adjoining Kodak Theatre, Mel's Dinet (Across the street), Hollywood High, and if you know a magician, the Magic Castle.  It's on the hill across the street, and you have to know a magicianto get in.  Johnny Carson and Orson Wells, both magicians enjoyed this great experience.  Enjoy!

Shatzis was great and we had a wonderful party!

One bit of advice though, "Party hearty", but take a cab around Santa Monica!

Do not take any chances of driving anytime here after a party.  Look at the number of celeb's who could have afforded limo's and didn't!  Have a great time.

If you have one great meal, make reservations and go to Mr. Chao's in Beverly Hill's!  Request the house specialty, Peking Duck and enjoy a glass of Dom Pere. before the meal.

You will have the meal and time of your life.  Three of us ate and drank there recently and the bill was under $200 total.  What an experience!

Have fun, if you need more details, please let m know!
