Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel

My son and I just recently styed in Paris for the first time at this Marriott RAive Gouche Hotel.  The hotel was outstanding and the staff was wonderful.  The hotel is well accessable via train from CDG airport, just a 5 minute walk from a station.  They are also on one of the major train routes that takes you to all the wonderful sights in the city, Notra Dam, Eiffel Tower and the Arch.

Their Executive Lounge was outstanding, open from 0600-2400 serving breakfast, snacks, beverages and most evenigs wine.  I highly recommend this location to anyone staying in Paris

Glad to hear it.  I'm having my first visit there in September.

Well, yes... and no. For me, the point about the Rive Gauche is that it has such a strong corporate focus: conferences, airline crews and tourist programmes. As a result, problems which elsewhere would seem unacceptable, here pass almost unnoticed: e.g. queueing for 20 mins  on a Sunday morning for breakfast; trying to thread one's way through a foyer crwded with tired an sometimes irritable airline crew and their luggage. This works for the corporate market essentially because the client does not have a direct presence. For the individual customer, the hotel's organisation sometimes seems seriously flawed. What saves the hotel for me - and I have visited 3/4 times and will return - is the location and the staff. Oh, and yes I agree, the Executive Lounge is a gem. Thank you
