Caribbean Honeymoon

My fiancé and I are getting married in Sept. 2015 and are looking at going to the Caribbean for our honeymoon shortly after. We are thinking about going to St Kitts or St Thomas. Just looking for some reviews or advice on which we should go to. While we want to be by the beach we also want some fun activities to do other than just sit on the beach like snorkel, hike, zip line, etc.

I am sure that you would love either one!

We chose St. Kitts over St. Thomas after doing some research and asking around.  The bottom line is that friends told us they got bored after a couple of days in St. Thomas and recommended that we choose St. Kitts instead.  Other friends told is St. Kitts was their favorite vacation ever.

As near as I can tell, here are the pros and cons:

More airline choices/flights and cheaper airfare to St. Thomas (we paid $850/person on Delta to St. Kitts but friends said they paid $1400 per ticket - ouch!)

Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas) is a larger city with better shopping than Basseterre (St. Kitts)

Can visit St. John from St. Thomas for shopping and restaurants

Can visit Nevis from St. Kitts for beaches, resorts, restaurants but still not much shopping

St. Thomas resort beach is small and pools and resort area are smaller and more crowded than St. Kitts

    Bigger/more pools/beach at St. Kitts

You can walk from the Atlantic side of St. Kitts to the Caribbean side for more beaches and beach bars

Villas (if you are staying in a villa) are older in St. Thomas and newer and more spacious in St. Kitts

Locals/hotel staff in St. Kitts are supposedly friendlier

St. Kitts is more "old Caribbean" and less touristy

St. Kitts has historic sites, jungle/rainforest, ziplining, monkeys, hiking, railroad tour, and sugar plantations

St. Thomas also has hiking, jungle/rainforest, ziplining and historic sites

St. Thomas uses US Currency / St. Kitts uses Eastern Caribbean Dollars but also takes US Dollars

Need passports for St Kitts but no passport needed to St. Thomas if you are a US Citizen

Diving and snorkeling at both locations is good but not great compared to other Caribbean locations

St. Kitts has a full-service casino - St. Thomas only has video lottery machines

I'm not an expert on Caribbean, but I have traveled to Bahamas on several occasions, always staying at the small resort, Ocean Club - http://oceanclub.oneandonlyresorts.com/

This doesn't make it special, but if you happened to have seen the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, a scene in this movie was filmed at the Ocean Club. It's located on Paradise Island, away from the tourist section, featuring small ocean-front rooms, mile private beach with wonderful snorkeling, excellent food, tennis courts, etc.
