The best currency exchange rate is by using an ATM. There are always a few in the airports.
Most, if not all, European ATMs require a 4 digit PIN. I also use my Cap One ATM card as they don't charge me a fee for using non-Cap One ATMs.
Not sure what other recommendations you are looking for but I have made a number of posts on Spain here on MRI. Do a search and they should come up.
Where are you going in Spain?
Hope you are staying a night or two in Toledo. It is well worth it. I spent 3 nights and could have spent another night or two! But, I also did a day trip to Consuegra from there.
Are you going to Granada and one of the white towns? Highly recommend Ronda for a night!
we will be spending two nights in Toledo and then two in Granada. Usually I have done a lot more prep by this time so I am trying to catch up. Along wither other things I am catching up on all the old posts. The people her ear real pros. Thanks for the help and I will be getting back to you.
I regularly take groups to Europe and I agree that ATM is the only way to go. Despite my warnings, I sometimes have someone with us currency that expects to find a bank that A) is open, and B) wants anything at all to do with us notes. And don't get me started with the people who still think travelers checks are a good bet. As I'm sure you know, make sure you've notified your bank about travel dates and destinations, including transit countries.
