I am taking my family to Vegas the first week of April. I am looking for exciting things to do with a family in the area. I know the norms like Hoover Dam, golf, and the free shows on the strip, but is there anything else that is a must do? We like adventure, hiking, fishing - just about anything.
I will also post back once we return.
Go to Fremont Street. It is an outdoor mall with theorigianl casinos. The kids will like the lights and entertainment. You can get good cheap tables. I think it is in the Queens casino where they have Shrimp coctails for 99cents. they are in a small sundae dish. Very good and also other cheap food.
I hope you will be renting a car otherwise, the taxi fees could add up substantially as I believe the JW isnt that close to the strip. taxi fees always add up there. I stayed at the Renaissance there last year which is one block off the strip and it took no less than $10-15 each way to get to the strip and way to far to walk.
As far as the trip, you have to go to the forum shops at Caesars. Eat at Spago there (Wolfgang Puck's), awesome pizza and not that expensive and perfect for relaxing and watching people (famous people as well) walk by.
