Hi all. I need advice on where to stay & reserve multiple rooms for my son's upcoming wedding in Orleans (church) & Harwich Port (reception). The 1 & only Marriott hotel on the cape is the Courtyard in Hyannis...~12 miles away. Also, do you have any suggestions on nice restaurants for the rehearsal dinner??? Thanks in advance!
Banging around the Cape the past few years watching baseball, hangin' with the boys, who feel a Quahog (pronounced Kwah hog) sandwich is fine dining, so take that into consideration , I've had nice lunches in Chatham at The Lazy Lobster and Corner Store and an enjoyable dinner at Vers and at anadyr's hangout The Chatham Bars Inn (fine food and great view, but wear your big boy pants for that, $$$$).
I also enjoyed jerry's rec of Black Cat and had other fun (and tasty) meals off Ocean Ave. in Hyannis (like Spanky's - beach type food).
Several nice meals were enjoyed in Provincetown as well, but that's a good haul up the road.
I had good experience picking out rentals with VRBO and also stayed with friends, so I can't be much help on the lodging. Have a great trip - watch out for the Great Whites in Chatham .
ps - I just re-read your post and see you wanted Rehearsal Dinner recommendations
2) Oops, Never mind
The Cape is such a beautiful place. You might know there are several sections from which to choose after you come over the Sagamore Bridge: Sandwich, Barnstable, Falmouth, Mashpee and several sections of Dennis. We stayed in a B&B in Dennis.
