Does anyone have any good places to stay or more importantly KID things to do while in and around Annapolis, MD? Kids are 5 , 9 & 10. We're looking for a day trip type thing -- a museum- a play- a show -arts crafts? anyhting durng the week of March 17, 2008. And of course - a decent Marriott recommednation is always appreciated.
A guided walking tour of the Naval Academy is fun and educational. It's not a long walk, so the 5-year old should be fine. Allow some time for walking around historic Annapolis and the dock area......just outside the Academy gate. A trip into Washington DC is fairly easy. 30 Minutes to the train station on Route 50, then take the commuter train into DC (short 20 minute ride). See the Capitol Building (call ahead for a meeting with your congressmen), walk the National Mall (long walk), see the White House. Very impressive for the kids (and adults). Baltimore is less than an hour away. The habor area (downtown) has a fantastic Aquarium.
St. Michaels on the eastern shore (cross the Bay Bridge), then about one hour east on route 50, is a quaint, upscale habor town. Great restaurants and shopping, as wellas a nautical heritage museum and learning center.

Thanks for the tip. We spent the weekend exploring Annapolis* and ran out of time. So, we'll just have to plan to go back and check out St. Michaels, too!
