The madmax thread was applicable in 2009. Tried emailing and calling calling all numbers multiple times. Shut down each time. I have called the Resort directly, and they took my information down by hand and told me it would be added. That was several hours ago, so I will give it at least until tomorrow - island time thing.
Also sending ansaa a direct message.
So I decided to call Marriott Honored Guest Rewards. They told me the same thing. So I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. I was transferred to another phone tree, almost as if I was just thrown back into the MR que.
Same answer from person #2. Again asked person #2 for a supervisor. Waited for an answer, and they would not allow me to speak with a supervisor but communicated to me that the supervisor said that they did not have access to put in a MR#.
I demanded that I get to speak with someone else, she then said that I could take it up with "supervisory level Marriott customer care". She transferred me to this department. I 10 seconds, I had the MR # added to the reservation. I asked this person what the direct dial number was: 800-535-4028.
What a friggin joke....maybe this number can help others - I am certainly saving it.
Not out of the woods. I am now thinking it just depends on who you speak with and if they have access to the MR # box or not. If they don't - they just tell you whatever it is that will get you off the phone......a post from TUG, right after I was successful......
So...I just called that number, did not mention any problem with attaching, did not mention it was an exchange, and," sorry, you'll have to talk to owners services at MVCI". So I asked him when this happened, and again he said I'd have to call. So I asked him for that number to see if it was something different, it is 800-535-4028. That is the same number I had just called from your post, so maybe I will try again. Did not realize it was the same until I had hung up.
Oh, I asked him if the problem was that my husband was the Platinum MR#, and said that I was making the call, since I know all the travel plans, but my husband was in the same room available to speak to him, and that didn't work either.
I have found this irritating, too. It seems as if the first few times we did Interval Exchanges into an MVCI property, the MR number somehow got added to the reservation automatically. At least, I do not remember having to jump through hoops to get credit.
But the last few times, I have had to contact the resort directly. I can usually get an email contact from Marriott Rewards if I request one, or in the case of a domestic resort, it is easy enough to just call them.
We are currently staying at Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort, and since I did not want to call them, I contacted them by email and they got it fixed, and did a great job of accommodating my special requests, too. One of my concerns is that, without the MR number attached to the reservation, they can't distinguish me from any other Interval customer. So they might work hard to accommodate my special requests, but presumably they might work harder if they know I am an MVCI premier owner and a Platinum Marriott Rewards member.
Strange... I haven't had any problem getting my MR number added to interval exchanges at vacationclub resorts. Been doing that for several years.
Not sure what the big deal is as to why some cust service agents refuse to add it. I want my future reservations to appear in my account.
