Gift Cards at retail stores?

Has Marriott discontinued selling gift cards at retail outlets?  I used to pick them up as gifts at Kroger, Giant Eagle, etc.  Now, they don't seem to be stocked at any of the stores.  Can they only be purchased online now?

Hi!  I love it when someone asks a question that completely escapes me.  I have no idea.  However, If you call the 800 # I'm sure someone there will be able to tell you where you can purchase these.  Just out of curiosity, what are you fgoing to do with these gift cards?  You may give me a good idea as to how to use them for myself.

    thanks

    crango,

According to gifts@marriott.com, Marriott gift cards can now only be purchased throught gifts.marriott.com website. They suggest that those interested in purchasing a Marriott gift card from a specific Marriott location call in advance to make sure that they have cards available on site.

This is disappointing news that Marriott Gift Cards are no longer available in retail outlets.  I had a relative that wanted to purchase one for me who does not have a computer or credit card. Gift cards are not even sold in hotels anymore.  I hope Marriott will eventually change their policy on this.
