Driving along US 101 in Northern California, you must have seen the huge Blimp Hangar at the former Moffet Naval Air station, now run by NASA/Ames Research Center, and located about 4 miles from Google's Mountain View H.Q..
Now, it seems that Google is getting full control of the airfield, thanks to a government deal that includes renovating the golf course, of course.
They have been using it as an experimental place for the Google fleet, apparently doing some weather related work with NASA. And this is within the flight restriction zone for SJC/SFO so it seems to duplicate that place and their locations at SJC. But Google is a giant and they have decided that Moffet is a plum to pick.
yup. first it was IBM, the Microsoft, Apple, and now Google and Facebook. One thing for sure is they all eventually fall. They get so convinced of their immortality, that they lose sight of the next new thing and before they know it they are irrelevant. who will be the next to fall? I think it will be Facebook….
