Just got home from a 10 day trip to various intermediate destinations. I won't bore you with the reason for the trip, but I drove well over 5,000 miles and had several restful nights in Marriott properties. We stayed at the Overland Park, KS Marriott, Cookeville, TN FFI, RDU Briercreek FFI, Roanoke, VA FFI two separate stays, and the Richmond, IN/ New Paris, OH FFI. Each stay I was recognized as a platinum rewards member and was upgraded in advance to a suite, never had to ask. Very nice. I'd recommend either of these hotels. Saw a lot of the country that I love, with the highlight being a visit to the National D-Day Museum in Bedford, VA. Out of the way location for most travellers but even after having visited museums, battlefields, and cemetaries in France ( and other locations around the world) none were any more meaningful and humbling as the story presented at this museum in Bedford, VA. Thanks to erc for recommending it. What an awesome trip!
That really sounds like a wonderful trip! Thanks for sharing The D-Day Museum information! That does sound like a most interesting place to visit. Had never even heard of it!
Thanks erc, for suggesting it!
NU, if you get to the "Gateway City", let me know! There is a new "Civil War Museum" that opened at Jefferson Barracks!
