We want to travel to Orlando and stay in a Marriott Vacation Club Resort. Which one is the best for kids -- we have a 12 year old boy and a 9 year old autistic boy (w/ a service dog). Rate: location, friendliness of staff, cleanliness, ease of getting around without a car (or do you need one?).
The best for kids is Horizons (second choice should be Cypress Harbor) right across the street. We have been owners of Marriott Vacation Club since 1986 and love all of them. Some are special.
YES YOU WILL NEED A CAR. NO GOOD TRANS. TO PARKS FROM RESORTS. Gloria 352 243 2156 I live down here in Orlando now, call with any other questions.
We meet our children with our grand children every year at the Grand Vista. The grand kids are 12, 10,8 and 1. We get a three bedroom. They love the paddle boats, and fishing, and game room and interactive pool. I have not stayed at Cypress Harbor but that is the only other one I would be willing to consider.
Before you check in call the rooms coordinator and tell her you want a lake view or golf course view. They are renovating some of the rooms so you might ask for a new renovated room. You will need a car. The park is only 10 mins away. We like the Grand Residence because you are off the busy streets and really feel like you are in paradise.
It has been a while since we travelled to Orlando eith the kids, but we stayed at both Sable and Royal Palms at the World Center. It looks like you have 2 kids and both of those resorts would work well since they are 2 bedroom. You get all of the amenities of the World Center, are close to Disney and right on the Interstate for the other parks.
It is great fun to go out late and hit a few balls on the golf course with the kids. Just bring a couple of clubs and a putter and go out after a day at Disbey, Universal or Seas World. Cook in or go to a restaurant - it is your choice. The condos are very spacious and the screened in patios keep the bugs away.
