Keeping gold level status by years end if you maybe short

Is there a forgiveness program when short by some nights? And if so how close must you be?

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

You may receive an offer to use MR points to keep your existing level (25,000 points, I think). Keep in mind that if you are downgraded, you do not get any rollover nights.

I did not make enough stays last year to maintain my gold status and chose not to spend the points to stay gold. There are a few gold level perks I miss, but the bonus points earned only drops from 25% to 20% so that alone was not enough to get me to spend my precious points to stay gold. You might want to look over the elite categories again.

Based on my activity this year, I'm almost on track to regain gold this year, but it's going to be close. I'm looking for ways to spend a few more night to hit my magic number. If not, at least I'll have a good head start with my rollover nights for next year.

Hi erik1008, thanks for posting your question. According to one of our specialists, there are usually challenges presented at the end of the year, as well as “BuyBack” opportunities in the early part of the year.
