Found this on a social network and I thought everyone here might enjoy it.
I work for a hotel chain booking reservations (central reservation center), and I see people making mistakes all the time. Here are some tips.
This is great advice and I really like it but I did not get a like button so just know I appreciate all the info. Online booking of hotels is a great convenient tool but I have found many times over that I get a better rate by calling direct. Even when booking through Marriott Platinum reservations, I have called the hotel directly and gotten better rates. I keep an eye out on the AAA discounts and always ask if there is a promotion that can beat those. It helps to know what type of activities are going on in the area at time you will be staying as well because not all csr's will let you have the promo if you don't know what to ask for. I have stayed in Tulsa during sprint car races in January and can always get that rate which is 20% discount off bar.
It's always nice to know some ins and outs when travelling. I appreciate you.
